My name is Dr. Khalid Malik, and for more than three decades I have had the privilege of building a career in medicine, science, leadership, and international business. This remarkable journey has taken me across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, where I have worked alongside exceptional people and witnessed how vision, determination, and strong values have the power to transform lives and communities.
Despite travelling the world, Scotland has always remained home.
The rolling countryside, the warmth of its communities, and the breathtaking beauty of Ayrshire inspired a dream that gradually became impossible to ignore. I did not want to build simply another events venue—I wanted to create a destination where people could celebrate life’s most meaningful moments, where families could come together, where businesses could exchange ideas and inspire innovation, and where visitors from around the world could experience the very best of Scottish hospitality.

From the initial consultation to the final farewell, our experienced events management team handles every stage of your celebration with professionalism and attention to detail. We assist with venue styling, seating arrangements, lighting design, entertainment coordination, catering support, guest management, supplier communication, and event scheduling to ensure everything runs flawlessly.
- Fly Fishing
Fly Fishing at The Waterfront
We stock four species of trout: Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Tiger Trout, and Blue trout. Minimum stock size is about 2lb and we stock them up to about 20lb in weight. We like to put a large stocking in early in the year, while the temperatures are cooler. We aim for a total count of about 1500 trout in the Fly Loch, at the start of the season in March, with 125 Double Figure fish. Fish stocks are maintained through biweekly stocking on the Fly Loch, and weekly stocking on the Bait Loch, with about 250kg going in each time. There are always at least 150 fish in the Bait Loch – that way we make sure there’s a good chance of catching a fish from both lochs.
